1 hospitalized after ice cream truck rolls over in multi-vehicle Buena Park crash – Orange County Register

A crash involving an ice cream truck and two other vehicles in Buena Park sent one person to a hospital Saturday, Dec. 4.

The collision happened near of Stanton Avenue and Poinsettia Drive at about 4:30 p.m., Buena Park police said. The truck’s front end was obliterated as it rolled over and came to rest on its side, wedged against a damaged compact SUV at the intersection, as seen in photos posted to social media. A red hatchback missing its front right suspension column and front bumper sat a few yards away as it leaked oil and water onto the street.

A person who was hurt in the crash was taken to a hospital, Buena Park Police Sgt. Chad Weaver said. Details regarding the severity of their injuries was not immediately released.

Information regarding what led up to the collision was not available Saturday afternoon. There was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol were involved, Weaver said.

Northbound lanes of Stanton were shut down as police and firefighters worked at the scene of the crash. Lanes may remain closed until at least 7:30 p.m., officers said on social media.
