Sometimes a short trip in a car helps to get young children off to sleep, new research claims. I think, from memory, it did work.
nd, according to that research, hybrid and electric vehicles are most effective at getting the little ones to slumber.
How that works exactly is not clear – maybe it is just marketing gone mad.
But parents who have switched to electric, plug-in hybrid or hybrid vehicles say their current cars are better in helping get toddlers to sleep than their previous petrol or diesel model.
In a Citroen study of 2,000 parents with babies and young children, 54pc said their child found it easier to sleep in their current car for some reason.
Just 11.9pc said an electrified vehicle made it harder.
Data shows that on average it takes a child 16½ minutes to fall asleep in a car.
The most beneficial factors were the gentle movements of the vehicle on the road, a comfortable in-car temperature and a comfortable car seat.
