Firefighters made quick work of a small brush fire Tuesday near Mulholland Drive west of the San Diego (405) Freeway.
Firefighters were sent to the 16200 block of West Mulholland Drive at 1:27 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire was burning in heavy brush, with a light wind, north of Mulholland and east of Bel Air Church, the LAFD reported.
A knockdown was reported at 1:52 p.m., with 24 firefighters holding the blaze to one-quarter acre in 25 minutes, protecting nearby schools, a church and homes.
Crews remained on scene to ensure there are no remaining hot spots. No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
