Taeil, a 30-year-old member of the South Korean boy band NCT, has left the Billboard 200-charting band after police started to investigate him for an unspecified alleged sex crime, his agency said Wednesday.

Taeil, whose legal name is Moon Tae-il, left the band after he was “accused in a criminal case related to a sexual crime,” his talent agency, SM Entertainment, said in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, as translated by the Associated Press.
What exactly the musician is accused of is unclear, but SM’s statement said he is cooperating with an investigation by authorities.
Representatives from SM Entertainment did not immediately respond to Forbes’ request for further comment Wednesday.
