PLOVER − A boy is dead after a water-related incident Saturday at Lake Pacawa.
A 911 call was placed about 6:20 p.m. Saturday and search and recovery efforts began to locate the boy in the water at Lake Pacawa in Plover, according to a news release from the Plover Police Department.
First responders from the Plover, Grand Rapids, Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point fire departments; Portage County Sheriff’s Office; Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; and DivePoint Scuba assisted at the scene.
After the boy was located, he was transported to Aspirus Plover Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Plover Police Department is investigating the death, according to the release. The department did not share any other details about the incident.
