Goshen man accused of intimidation with a deadly weapon

Sep. 3—ARRESTS

—A 24-year-old man was arrested by Goshen police at 10:31 p.m. Monday on a charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon after police were called to the 2000 block of Ashton Pines Drive.

—A 35-year-old man was arrested by Elkhart County deputies at 10:21 a.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of meth after he was stopped by police in the 3200 block of South Nappanee Street in Elkhart.

—A 19-year-old man was arrested by Elkhart County deputies at 3:31 a.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage after he was stopped for a moving violation at 17th Street and Hively Avenue in Elkhart.

—A 36-year-old man was arrested by Elkhart County deputies at 6:08 a.m. Sunday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, 30955 Old U.S. 20, Elkhart.

—A 29-year-old man was arrested by Elkhart County deputies at 11:50 a.m. Monday on a charge of operating a vehicle while in a habitual traffic violator status after he was stopped near U.S. 33 and C.R. 13 in Elkhart.

—A 20-year-old woman was arrested by Elkhart County deputies at 8:38 a.m. Monday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana after she was stopped for a traffic violation at U.S. 20 and Jefferson Parkway in Bristol.

HIT-AND-RUN

—Leticia Lowe reported to Elkhart County deputies at 12:29 p.m. Saturday that while she was driving her 2024 Mazda CX30 near Old U.S. 33 and Ind. 19 someone rear-ended her vehicle and left the scene.

—Elkhart County deputies are investigating a suspect who ran off the roadway at C.R. 16 east of Burr Street and damaged Elkhart County Highway property at 4:13 a.m. Monday.

—Rex Weaver, of Nappanee, reported to Elkhart County deputies at 7:39 a.m. Monday that someone traveling west on C.R. 52 in a white passenger car, crashed into his mailbox in the 26000 block of C.R. 52 and left the scene.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

Jerry Marvin 82, was pronounced deceased in the 50000 block of Darlene Street in Elkhart after a caller reported she found him unconscious and not breathing at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The death is under investigation, according to police.

BURGLARY

—A 49-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 9:36 a.m. Monday that someone gained access to her home in the 1000 block of South 16th Street on Sunday but nothing was taken or damaged.

—An employee of Wave Express, 19828 U.S. 6, New Paris, reported to Elkhart County deputies that between July 24 and Aug. 15 someone stole a Keystone Raptor RV from their parking lot.

—An employee of Linton’s Wholesale Nursery, 20775 C.R. 14, Elkhart, reported to Elkhart County deputies that on Aug. 29 or 30 someone forced entry into a greenhouse and stole a Polaris Ranger side-by-side and keys to a tractor.

—A 38-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 that someone entered his storage unit at Storage Rentals of America, 52292 C.R. 9, Elkhart, and stole several items.

—A 61-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Aug. 23 and Aug. 31 someone entered his storage unit at Storage Rentals of America, 28874 C.R. 4, Elkhart, and stole several items.

CRIMINAL RECKLESSNESS

Goshen police were called to the Pumpkinvine Trail near Lincoln Avenue at 11:55 a.m. Monday for a report of spent shell casings.

—An employee of Pep Auto Sales, 1014 W. Pike St., reported to Goshen police at 10:15 a.m. that someone broke in overnight.

—A man reported to Elkhart County deputies that around 3:30 a.m. Friday someone threw a stick at his moving vehicle causing damage on C.R. 12 near Eisenhower Drive.

—Team RV Express, 51796 Lovejoy Drive, Middlebury, reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Aug. 28 and 30 someone stole wires from RV trailers.

—A 45-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies at 10:46 p.m. Monday that someone damaged her front screen door in the 18000 block of Joan Kay Lane in Goshen.

THEFTS

—A 58-year-old man reported to Goshen police at 9:44 a.m. Monday that one of his vehicles was stolen overnight from the 600 block of Maplecrest Drive.

—A 28-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies at 8:30 a.m. Thursday that someone broke her car window and stole keys in the 24000 block of C.R. 45 in Elkhart.

—A 22-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies at 8:46 a.m. Thursday that someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse, wallet, identification papers, and cash in the 30000 block of Riverbend Circle in Elkhart.

—American Auto Sales, 57883 Ind. 19, Elkhart reported Elkhart County deputies on Thursday that two dealer plates were stolen.

—A 32-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between 6 p.m. Thursday and 7:33 p.m. Friday his firearm was stolen from his vehicle in the 26000 block of Parkview Avenue in Elkhart.

—A 76-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Aug. 27 and 28 someone impersonated a family member to scam him out of around $16,000.
