AI-generated Deepfake technology has been making waves across the internet, and the latest victim of this disturbing trend is Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt. A video has emerged on social media wherein a girl who resembles Alia could be seen dressed up in a blue floral co-ord set and making obscene gestures to the camera. However, this viral clip was morphed. The video was edited by pasting ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress’ face over someone else’s body. Recently, Kajol became a victim of AI-generated deepfake videos. A video went viral on social media, which purportedly showed the actress changing clothes. Before this, Rashmika Mandanna’s deepfake video stirred up the internet. The clip showed a woman dressed in a black yoga bodysuit, whose face was morphed as Rashmika, entering an elevator while smiling for the camera. Katrina Kaif has also fallen prey to deepfake as her AI-generated picture from ‘Tiger 3’s towel fight scene emerged on social media. While the original image featured Katrina engaging in a fight with Michelle Lee, donning a white towel, the morphed image showed her in the same pose but with a different and altered outfit, making her look indecent. Following the multiple cases of AI-generated deepfake videos, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his concern over the issue. He called the AI-powered technological feature ‘problematic’ and said, ‘A new crisis is emerging due to deepfakes produced through artificial intelligence. There is a very big section of society, which does not have a parallel verification system and end up believing them.
