Eni chooses ABL for marine warranty survey services on Congo LNG project

Italian oil and gas company Eni has selected ABL, an energy and marine consultancy, to deliver marine warranty survey services.

The contract pertains to the offshore transportation and installation operations for Phase 2 of the Marine XII Congo LNG development project.

Phase 2 of the project involves the construction, transportation and installation of a new floating liquefied natural gas vessel (FLNG), as well as the conversion of a floating separation, storage and booster unit (FSU).

Additionally, it includes the installation of wellhead platforms, associated tie-in pipelines and related offshore facilities in the Republic of Congo.

The scope of ABL’s work encompasses a comprehensive technical review of project documentation, suitability surveys for the marine fleet and on-site attendance to oversee warranted operations.

The company’s involvement is due to begin in 2024 until the completion of the offshore works.

ABL has been actively supporting Phase 1 of the project since February 2023.

The France-based operations of ABL will spearhead the company’s responsibilities for this project.

ABL operational manager for activities in Congo Guillaume Henin said: “Winning this latest project in the Congo is a testament to the successful work we have been doing in the country over many years, establishing ABL France as the leading technical consultant for the successful and safe delivery of energy infrastructure projects in Africa’s Francophone countries.

“We are really pleased to continue our work in supporting the Republic of Congo’s energy infrastructure with this key project.”

In May this year, ABL agreed to acquire Ross Offshore, a specialist energy consultancy currently under the ownership of Moreld Group.

This acquisition is expected to enhance ABL’s capabilities and facilitate the expansion of its services across both the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors globally.

“Eni chooses ABL for marine warranty survey services on Congo LNG project ” was originally created and published by Offshore Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.
