JetBlue is ending its service in Palm Springs, according to a recent news report.
The Points Guy broke the news of the New-York based carrier’s announcement on Wednesday that it won’t resume its seasonal service between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Palm Springs International Airport. It is ending service at seven airports total, including fellow California airport Burbank International Airport.
This decision appears to be tied to an effort to increase profits. JetBlue said in a press release that the company is reducing flights on underperforming routes across its network. It also announced additions to the Northeast, Florida and Caribbean, saying it is part of the plan to “refocus its flying into leisure and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) routes with strong customer demand and deploy this capacity in places it can win, executing on its efforts to return the airline’s business to profitability.”
