Mariah Carey never reached out as estranged sister Alison was dying: friend

Mariah Carey reportedly never reached out to her late sister, Alison Carey, despite having prior knowledge that she was dying.

Alison’s close friend, David Baker, claimed to the US Sun that the “Don’t Forget About Us” singer “never tried to contact” her older sister during their estrangement — not even to check on Alison when she was put on hospice care weeks ago.

“A phone call or, better still, a video call would have meant so much to Alison. But it never came,” Baker told the outlet Tuesday.

According to Baker, the elder sister was “unhappy” that Mariah “cut off contact with her” and chose to keep her distance.

“The callous rejection added more hurt to Alison’s pain,” he said.

“She talked about it frequently. She wondered if Mariah or any of her relatives would come to her funeral,” the insider added. “I am told that a memorial service is planned for a future date, but nothing now.”

Reps for the Grammy winner did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

On Monday, Mariah confirmed the deaths of her sister and her mother, Patricia Carey, who tragically died on the same day over the weekend.

“I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,” the “Emotions” hitmaker, 55, said in a statement to People.

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

Mariah was estranged from her sister and her brother, Morgan Carey, when she released her 2020 memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” — which prompted her siblings to sue her for defamation and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

According to court documents related to the suit, Alison struggled with alcohol addiction in addition to other health issues.

After a 2015 home invasion, she suffered a traumatic brain injury as well as vision and short-term memory problems. She also battled spine and digestive disorders.
