Mavericks’ 2011 title team sings along with AAC crowd in NBA Finals Game 3 cameo

A well-known group was in attendance for Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Led by Dirk Nowitzki, the Dallas Mavericks’ 2011 championship team was featured prominently during Wednesday’s Mavs-Celtics matchup at American Airlines Center. The team members sang “I want my baby back” with members of the crowd in a nod to a Chili’s-themed promo.

The “baby” in this instance? It’s safe to assume it’s another title.

The squad’s cameo began with a zoomed-in view of the Larry O’Brien Trophy. After a few seconds, the camera panned back and revealed the trophy was held by J.J. Barea.

Shawn Marion, Jason Terry and Tyson Chandler were also among the team members in attendance. Jason Kidd wasn’t in the suite with his former teammates since he was, of course, down on the court coaching the current Mavs.

Thursday’s marked the 13-year anniversary of the 2011 team’s championship victory. That squad claimed Dallas’ first NBA title with a 4-2 series win over the Miami Heat.

Before Game 3, Kidd said he didn’t realize Thursday marked the anniversary of that win.
