MSI EXPERT GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER card gets confirmed specs

MSI to put real Experts to work

The first Expert GPU is RTX 4080 SUPER, full specs have just been leaked. 

According to the spec sheet shared by @wnxod, the upcoming MSI RTX 4080 SUPER from MSI will be the first card in the new EXPERT series. These cards were presented at CES, and it was promised it won’t take long for the first cards to appear on the market. It looks like MSI will fulfil this promise next week with the arrival of the RTX 4080 SUPER EXPERT.

The card is to feature a push-pull fan design similar to what one can see on NVIDIA Founders Edition. It also features a vapor chamber underneath its 3.5-slot cooler. MSI worked around the idea of the Founder’s Edition dual-fan design, and they added their aesthetics with a different color scheme.

Many GPU enthusiasts expressed interest in this design, but only as long as it comes in a black color scheme. Unfortunately, MSI has not confirmed plans for any other color option at this time.

According to the spec sheet, the card will operate at 2610 MHz clock out of the box in both Gaming and Silent modes. That’s 60 MHz higher clock than NVIDIA reference specs. Furthermore, MSI is confirming 2625 MHz max GPU clock through the use of MSI Center overclocking profile. This setting, however, will require MSI software to be installed.

Worth noting that some reviewers like DaPoets have already received samples for review. This means we will see some actual testing shortly after the embargo is lifted. One should assume that this design will be ‘premium’ and likely not meet NVIDIA’s recommended MSRP of $999. As a result, reviews of the EXPERT should be expected on the launch day, not the day prior.
