Red Carpet, Panel Photos & More

Marvel Studios has some exciting news in store.

As Kevin Feige revealed what’s to come in the remainder of Phase Five and beyond during Saturday’s big Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, some of the biggest names in the MCU, including Robert Downey Jr., Harrison Ford, Pedro Pascal and Florence Pugh assembled.

The panel kicked off with a lively choir performance of Madonna‘s ‘Like a Prayer’ after star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy previously secured the song for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Giancarlo Esposito announced his casting as Sidewinder in Captain America: Brave New World, teasing footage of the upcoming movie ahead of its Feb. 14, 2025 premiere. Ford was also in attendance, teasing his role as President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, replacing William Hurt.

Ford spoke to Deadline about “working with the actors who are terrific and really bring a lot to the screen and bring a lot to other actors. I was delighted to work with [Anthony] Mackie and all the other people involved, and I had a really great time making the movie.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps was revealed as the movie’s official title as stars Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach took to the stage, where it was announced that they will appear in the next two Avengers movies.

The Russo Brothers were officially announced to return to the directors’ chairs for the upcoming Avengers installments as well. They then unmasked “the greatest actor in the world” Robert Downey Jr. as he will return to the MCU in a new role as Victor Von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

Comic-Con 2024 comes as Deadpool & Wolverine has revitalized the MCU with a projected $420M+ opening weekend. Last year, The Marvels became the MCU’s lowest opening with $110million. With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also part of Marvel’s Phase Five, the upcoming Thunderbolts* will wrap up this era when it premieres May 5, 2025 in theaters.

Phase Six will commence with The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25, 2025, followed by Blade (Nov. 7, 2025), Avengers: Doomsday (May 1, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (May 7, 2027).

The upcoming era comes as Marvel Studios recalibrates its model of producing as much content as possible, cutting back to two feature films per year.
