Gavin and Stacey writer Ruth Jones was filmed playfully joking with fans who appear to keep asking her if the upcoming special episode really is the series’ ‘Finale’.
Jones, who co-writes the show with James Corden and also stars as Stacey’s best friend Nessa, was filmed chatting to friends on set in Barry Island, Wales, with co-star Joanne Page, where she was forced to tell fans ‘there will be no more, and that’s why it’s called the finale’.
Dressed in Nessa’s iconic leather outfit she adds ‘if anyone asks me if there’s going to be any more I don’t know how I’m going to respond’ before one fan said ‘you best marry [Smithy] then’.
The footage was captured by Gavin and Stacey fan Claire Wheatley, 44, who was waiting outside a cordon on Barry Island promenade in South Wales while the cast were filming the cult classic comedy’s eagerly anticipated last episode on Wednesday, 4 September.
