Scotty McCreery stops concert to kick out man who allegedly hit woman

Country singer Scotty McCreery, known for winning the tenth season of “American Idol,” halted his show in Colorado over the weekend after he witnessed a man allegedly hit a woman in the crowd.

“Hey, hey, hey! Right here. That’s a lady you just hit, sir,” the “Damn Strait” singer, 30, can be heard saying in a video posted via Facebook by concertgoer Jessica Rosario on Saturday.

McCreery was just a few words into singing “It Matters to Her,” which he said earlier in the clip is his wife Gabi Dugal’s favorite song, at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo when the incident ensued.

When he spoke up, his band immediately stopped playing and the audience could be heard in shock.

“Absolutely not. Who just hit the lady?” McCreery then asked. “Police, security. Is she OK?”

The “I Love You This Big” singer then proceeded to kick out the man, saying, “Get the heck out of here.”

His fans erupted into cheers and McCreery appeared dismayed that someone would do that at his show.

“What are you doing?” he asked as the man was escorted out, prompting boos and hollers.

After a few minutes, McCreery was able to start playing again but not without throwing one last jab.

“Wherever you are, that’s the definition of a coward for hitting a lady,” the “Feelin’ It” singer told his fans, who responded by clapping and cheering. “Get the heck out of here, dude.”

Rosario reacted to the ordeal in the caption of her now-viral video, writing, “People can’t act right! guy hits a female at the Scotty McCreery concert what [a shame]”

She then praised McCreery, saying he’s “the man” for kicking out the alleged assailant, concluding, “Respect for stopping the show and having him removed.”

Olga Robak, the spokesperson for the Colorado State Fair, confirms to Page Six that an investigation is underway. It does not appear that any arrests have been made as of yet.

Reps for McCreery also tell Page Six that he does not have a comment at this time and the country crooner has not issued a statement about what occurred on social media.
