The First Descendant is a terrific experience that has become massively popular. While it has a fun gameplay loop and developers consistently supporting the game through regular updates, most of the popularity stems from the characters. The new TFD character for Season 1 has been revealed, and Nexon has teased the abilities for Hailey with The First Descendant fans already head over heels in love.
Nexon has confirmed the release date for TFD Season 1 is August 29th. A teaser trailer has been shared, but it’s expected a full trailer will be present at Gamescom 2024. Nexon’s roadmap for 2024 reveals that Season 1 is planning to also introduce a new Ultimate following on from the popular Valby released at the end of July.
While a new Ultimate is exciting, The First Descendant fans are fully ready to buy Hailey on day one of her release.
The First Descendant Hailey abilities
Nexon has teased the abilities for Hailey in The First Descendant. Per the developer, Hailey has “supercooling arche abilities that enable her to drop her body temperature to extreme levels and fire arche clusters instead of bullets”.
The only other detail we know about the Season 1 TFD heroine is that she uses a pretty massive sniper. According to her lore, She “left the sniper squad she had grown so fond of and officially became a Descendant. But even as a Descendant, Hailey vowed to keep the legend alive, still reciting the 33rd sniper squad’s operational mantra”.
Since her reveal, fans have been incredibly impressed and stoked. Some have compared her to Widowmaker from Overwatch, while others have compared her to Quiet from Metal Gear Solid 5, and perhaps the most fitting of all, Sniper Wolf from MGS1.
Reacting to “Hailey with the BFG” on Reddit, fans are already head over heels in love with the upcoming sniper. While there are many comments of lust that can’t be repeated here, the general consensus is that fans are ready to pay whatever price to get her day one.
Fans are also looking forward to the prospect of skins upon her release and in the future, and, away from her just looks, fans are excited about her abilities. More about her kit should be revealed upon or closer to launch, but right now she sounds unique and fun with her sniping and cold-themed skillset.
