This genius ceiling fan duster is taking over Facebook groups (it’s only $13)

Here’s the deal: if you’re ever in need of some cleaning hacks, go troll your neighborhood Facebook groups. You’ll find actual recs and advice from actual people dealing with the same issues that you are. One that everyone knows all too well? Cleaning your ceiling fans. Like, who actually knows how to clean a ceiling fan without possibly breaking an ankle?

Anyway, I was trolling my local FB group one day when I came across an angel of a human who recommended the Heonay Ceiling Fan Duster to simplify this most dreaded of tasks, saying it’s “so easy” to use. Beloved by Amazon shoppers as well, it’s basically a dust-lifting donut on a stick for your fans that’ll get rid of layers of nastiness in just one pass — and it’s down to $13.

It’s so easy: slide it on and slide it off to poof the hard-to-reach dust away.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

Thanks to a 20%-off coupon, this is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen for this. And that’s not counting all the time and energy you’ll save and all the aggravation you’ll be spared— you can’t put a price on that! Oh, and since it’s reusable, you won’t have to keep buying replacement heads like you do with some other handheld dusters.

Why do I need this? 🤔

Made of soft, reusable microfiber, the Heonay Ceiling Fan Duster is shaped like an upside-down triangle with a hole straight through the middle, attached to a pole. To use, just slip the blade right through the hole and slide it off to remove dust sans mess. The fabric itself is super absorbent, so you won’t need to stress about constantly shaking it off.

While all of that is fine and dandy, the best part about the Heonay is the extendable rod, which can reach up to nearly 5 feet. This means you don’t have to whip out the step stool or perform a balancing act on a chair or sofa arm (we’ve all been there) for those high-to-reach fans.

Put away that rickety kitchen chair: Keeping your ceiling fans clean shouldn’t require a death-defying balancing act.

Complementing the aformentioned Facebook praise, Amazon shoppers have given this ceiling fan duster an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars.

Pros 👍

“This duster is amazing,” wrote this happy cleaner. “I was able to clean both my low and vaulted ceiling fan fairly easily. Also used it on my vents and window blinds. This makes cleaning so much easier and faster. It was really dirty when I was done, so I shook it out on the deck and washed by hand. It was easy, and when it’s dry it’ll be ready to go again”

“I’m 81 years old,” started this senior in their five-star review. “I used to stand on the bed, or a small two-step ladder. My balance isn’t that great anymore, so this allows me to still clean the fans while being safe.”

“After many years of ignoring the dust on the top of my highest ceiling fan, I decided to give this product a try,” explained an Amazon customer. “We have a high vaulted ceiling in our living room. I’m only 5’2” tall but was able to reach and dust this fan. It was fairly easy to maneuver the brush over the fan blades. The fan swayed slightly from the ceiling as I was dusting, but no apparent damage from it moving a bit. I would recommend this product. Also used it to dust baseboards.”

Summed up this shopper: “I could have used this like 20 years ago but I guess better late than never … I’ve been breaking my back trying to clean my ceiling fan blades, but this ceiling fan duster makes the job so much easier and quick.”

Cons 👎

While shoppers generally love the Heonay, some have noticed that the snug fit that makes for such spotless cleaning on some fans makes it unusable for others. “[I] felt this would be great for dusting my ceiling fans,” recalled a rueful reviewer. “However, it does not fit over my fan blades. I could get it halfway over the blade, and that was it. Would be much easier to use if the opening in the duster was larger.”

Another issue? Cleaning the cleaner itself. “Since it’s attached to the metal parts, we can’t exactly throw it in the washing machine. I had to hand-wash it.” said this user. “I still love this device, but if I could make an upgrade, it would be to have the ability to remove the fuzzy end from the metal ring for washing.”
