A decision will be made in a month

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes that a decision has not yet been made on Stefano Pioli’s future, because it depends on the results he gets from here until the end of the season.

Calciomercato.com recently reported that, compared to a few months ago, Pioli now certainly has a higher chance of keeping his job, but a definitive decision will be made only at the end of the season.

After the draw against Salernitana just before Christmas, there was a genuine chance that Pioli could have been sacked but the management asked the dressing room and learned that he still has their backing.

Now, it seems as though Pioli will be judged according to four factors between now and the conclusion of the current campaign, and only then will a decision be made.

Pellegatti spoke live on Radio Firenzeviola to discuss a number of different topics in view of tonight’s game against Fiorentina, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Theo’s absence weighs heavily, Kjaer’s was expected. The important thing is that he recovers for the Europa League match against Roma,” he began.

“Milan come to Florence trying to play their game. In recent years, things have always gone well for Fiorentina. Italiano knows how to hinder Pioli’s game. The Rossoneri, especially at the Franchi, have always struggled in previous years.”

“Pioli’s future? In my opinion a decision will be made in a month more or less. According to the fans and social media, they don’t want him anymore. The management are waiting for the results. Pioli is however very focused and not shaken by the rumours.

“Jovic? I still can’t understand him. He scored eight goals, some big ones. He still hasn’t convinced me, but maybe I’m wrong.”
