Nick Bolton will have surgery to repair the dislocated wrist he suffered in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Bolton has about a two-month recovery ahead of him.

In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs linebacker pursued and corralled Keenan Allen after a short catch. As Bolton attempted to bring the Chargers receiver to the turf, defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah rallied to the ball and crashed on top of Allen and Bolton.

The 23-year-old Bolton laid on the turf clutching his left wrist and in visible pain. After the game, head coach Andy Reid announced the extent of the injury, but did have a timeline for how long Bolton would be out.

Based the two-month recovery period, Bolton would tentatively return around Christmas and for the final quarter of the season. Kansas City just won its sixth consecutive game after losing the season opener to Detroit. The Chiefs sit atop the AFC West and are one of three teams in the league with only one loss.
