Creighton pitcher Kenzie Schopfer didn’t allow a baserunner Friday afternoon as the Bluejays blanked Georgetown 8-0 in a five-inning game at the CU Sports Complex.
Schopfer, who improved to 4-5 on the season, needed just 58 pitches to retire all 15 batters she faced for the program’s first perfect game since 2006. She struck out five of the first nine batters she faced.
It was the second shutout of the season for Schopfer, a right-hander who transferred from Wichita State in the offseason. She threw a two-hitter three weeks ago against St. John’s.
It’s the second time this season that Creighton has no-hit a softball opponent. On the season’s opening day on Feb. 9, Jena Lawrence and Natalia Puchino combined on a no-hitter in a 2-1 win over Northwestern State.

On Friday, Schopfer got all the offense she needed in the first inning.
Creighton hit back-to-back home runs in the first as Madeline Vejvoda hit a two-run homer to right. It was the first homer this season for the Papillion-La Vista grad. Sydney Potter followed with a homer to left, giving her eight home runs this month.
It stayed 3-0 until the Jays put together a two-out rally in the third. Lily West hit a three-run to left center and Cayla Nielsen followed with an RBI single to make it 7-0. Ella Dalton added an RBI single in the fourth.
Four of the eight hits on the day were for extra bases for Creighton, which also beat the Hoyas 8-0 Thursday.
They will play their series finale at noon Saturday.
