Custom GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER cards appear at retailers for up to $650

NVIDIA RTX 40 SUPER early pricing: up to $50 more for custom 4070(Ti) SUPER, $100 for 4080 SUPER

Newegg and BestBuy confirm model pricing for several versions.

The upcoming NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER is set to be the first gaming GPU launched this year. Its predecessor, the original 4070 model, gained significant popularity among the board partners. We counted over 140 custom models already on the marker which were based on this SKU. The RTX 4070 SUPER could follow suit, offering even more variety, especially thanks to the introduction of many White versions in recent months.

Fortunately, cooler compatibility shouldn’t be a major concern for existing designs, as the RTX 4070 SUPER only requires a small 20W increase in power compared to its predecessor. Board partners typically design their coolers with some headroom for potential updates, ensuring a smooth transition for users. What this means is that AIBs can spawn multiple cards with minimal effort.

With preorders expected to kick off next week, likely aligned with the release of first reviews, some popular U.S. retailers have started listing the new cards. Not all the offers revealed prices just yet, though, but through some clever tricks, we managed to compile a list of models currently featured on Newegg and BestBuy, with the latter being an NVIDIA partner for the Founder’s Edition launch.

GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB MSRP: $599

  • NVIDIA Founders Edition: $599.99
  • GIGABYTE WindForce OC: $599.99
  • PNY VERTO OC: $599.99
  • ZOTAC Twin Edge: $599.99
  • MSI VENTUS 2X OC: $609.99
  • MSI VENTUS 2X OC WHITE: $619.99
  • MSI VENTUS 3X OC: $629.99
  • MSI Gaming X Slim: $649.99
  • GIGABYTE GAMING OC: $649.99

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16GB MSRP: $799

  • GIGABYTE Gaming OC: $849.99
  • MSI VENTUS 3X OC: $899.99

GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB MSRP: $999

  • NVIDIA Founders Edition: $999.99
  • MSI VENTUS 3X OC: $1099.99

Currently, there are four 4070 SUPER models listed at the MSRP, while five models are priced higher, ranging from $10 to $50 above the suggested amount. It’s worth noting that only a few retailers have already opted to lower the price for the existing RTX 4070 non-SUPER version. The official price adjustment to $549 is expected to take effect next week.

In addition to the RTX 4070 SUPER, there are also listings for the RTX 4070 Ti and even the RTX 4080 SUPER. Specifically, the MSI VENTUS 3X cards come with a $50 and $100 premium over the NVIDIA MSRP.

NVIDIA is lifting the sales embargo on the RTX 4070 on January 17, and this applies to all models. But if you’re thinking about upgrading this model, but you may be considering any of the factory-overclocked models which are not priced at NVIDIA MSRP, then you should be aware that there are two review embargoes. One on January 16 for MSRP cards and another for remaining models on the following day, aligning with the SKU release.

As a reminder, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER launches a week later, on January 24, while RTX 4080 SUPER is set to launch on January 31st.
