“Multiple citizenship should become an element of the state policy aimed at the preservation and development of the world Ukrainian community [worldwide],” said Kuleba.

The official stated that the enactment of multiple citizenships is crucial, as “the focus should be not on fear of distributing foreign passports in Ukraine, but on the influence of the Ukrainian passport in Ukraine and the world.”

“Naturally, this policy must be wisely executed, starting progressively with friendly partner nations,” the minister added.

On Sept. 22, Zelenskyy pledged to the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States that he would follow through with the concept of dual citizenship.
