Gary Owen reveals he’s welcomed twins as comedian tells Shannon Sharpe he’s excited to become a dad again after divorce

COMEDIAN Gary Owen has confirmed that he recently welcomed twins into the world.

The happy announcement comes as Owen and his wife of nearly 20 years divorced.

The actor confirmed the news while speaking to former football player Shannon Sharpe on his podcast, Club Shay Shay.

“I don’t know if this is true,” Sharpe started.

“But there’s a report that you just recently welcomed twins?”

Owen was surprised that the information regarding his twins was already out and known by some people.

“Damn, you know everything,” he replied.

“I did.”

Owen also said he didn’t think he wanted to be a father again but was excited to be in his twins’ lives.

“It’s two-fold,” he admitted.

Owen also opened up about the relationship he’s had with his older children – son Austin and daughter Kennedy with his ex-wife Kenya Duke.

He hasn’t spoken to Austin or Kennedy since his contentious split from Duke, according to Atlanta Black Star.

“I don’t know how I became this evil human being that they want nothing to do with. Obviously, I’m not perfect,” Owen said.

“It’s been so long that I have to sneak around to try and just lay eyes on ’em.”

“Didn’t see myself being a dad but I think not having a relationship with my kids, you know? The twins now, they’re awesome,” he continued to Sharpe.

After Sharpe congratulated him, Owen shared more details about his new babies.

Owen said his twins are around nine or 10 months old.

“One’s white and one’s Black,” he stated.

The comedian also shared one of the twins has blue eyes and the other has brown eyes.

OWEN’S EX-WIFE

Owen was married to Duke, an entrepreneur and podcast host, from 2003 until 2021.

The couple’s divorce was finalized in 2021 after a drawn-out battle.

“I’m sure you guys have heard, I’m going through a very very messy, public divorce,” Owen said in a clip he posted on Tuesday of him doing a stand-up comedy show.

“Thought it was going to be private, wife had other plans. It is what it is, what are you gonna do? I ain’t the first one to get a divorce.”

Aside from the couple’s son and daughter, Duke has a child from a previous marriage named Emilio.

Owen did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
