A short while earlier, Evo Japan 2024 was streaming its second day on both Twitch and YouTube. During the finale of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, the Twitch streams for Evo Japan 2024 suddenly went offline.
As it turns out, all of Evo’s Twitch streams were suddenly banned without warning. Viewers were simply told that the channel was unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, though it wasn’t exactly clear what this violation was.
Some within the fighting game community speculated that this was an automated ban that occurred due to a lack of moderation in the Twitch chat.
Fortunately, those watching on Twitch were able to switch over to Evo Japan 2024’s YouTube live streams to watch the conclusion of the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising event being held there. This was an important moment for the community since it was the first time a champion was crowned at an Evo event for GBVSR.
Of course, StreamerBans has ensured that the ban on one of Twitch’s partners was documented and archived. From this, we learn a little more information.
As it turns out, the ban against EVOJapan01 only lasted for 41 minutes. It was the first time that the account has been banned since StreamerBans began tracking EVOJapan01 starting on July 28, 2019.

Before too long, the official Evo Japan Twitter account released a statement in Japanese that gives us some idea of what apparently happened.
According to Google Translate, this issue arose due to a “login issue” rather than a problem with the stream itself. It was also noted that more official details will be be announced at a later date.
Either way, it would appear that the issue is resolved as the Evo Japan has returned on Twitch. We’ll likely not see the problem come up again during the third day of the event later tonight.
