Sorokin starts for a second straight game after alternating the previous eight with Varlamov, who will likely start the second of back-to-back games at the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. … Martin replaces Gauthier, a forward, after one game as a healthy scratch. … Fasching, a forward, will be scratched for a second straight game. … Soucy will miss 6-8 weeks after the defenseman was injured blocking a shot against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday. Friedman, a right-shot defenseman who was scratched in Montreal, will switch to the left side in Soucy’s spot on the third pairing. Myers did not practice Tuesday and did not take part in an optional morning skate on Wednesday but is expected to play against the Islanders. … Hirose, a defenseman, was called up from Abbotsford of the American Hockey League on Tuesday but isn’t expected to play unless Myers can’t. … Hoglander, a forward, will be a healthy scratch for a second straight game since Blueger returned from a foot injury sustained in the preseason.
