The fire broke out at 27 Pearl St. before 2 a.m. on Feb. 24, the office said, and multiple people were trapped inside the home with flames overtaking the first and second floors.

First responders weren’t able to get inside the home due to the heavy blaze, the office said.

Once the fire was knocked down, Lane was found dead inside the home, the office said.

A 61-year-old woman had serious burn injuries and was brought to Rhode Island hospital, while another girl and a 59-year-old man were brought to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment, the office said.

Raynham, Bridgewater and Lakevile Fire Departments gave mutual aid at the scene, and Carver firefighters covered Middleborough stations during the incident.
