The 66th annual Grammy Awards are underway in downtown Los Angeles, where music’s biggest stars have gathered at Crypto.com Arena. SZA leads the pack with nine nominations, including the coveted Album and Song of the Year categories, but it’s a crowded field.
Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and Jon Batiste aren’t far behind, as they also received multiple nominations in major categories. Barbie earned 11 nominations in seven categories, more than any individual artist. Cyrus, SZA and Barbie are winners so far.
As for performers, the Grammys are known for their unique pairings of artists. It’s unclear if we’ll get an Elton John-Eminem type moment, but there’s plenty of star power. Tracy Chapman made a rare appearance and joined Luke Combs onstage to perform “Fast Car.”
Sunday’s show recognizes recordings released from Oct. 1, 2022, to Sept. 15, 2023. “Flowers” (Cyrus), “Anti-Hero” (Swift), “Kill Bill” (SZA) and “On My Mama” by Victoria Monét are some of the big songs released in that time period that are competing for Record of the Year. Who will take home a Grammy tonight? And which artists are already winners?

Killer Mike arrested
Upsetting the Barbz (Minaj’s loyal fanbase) seems to be the least of Killer Mike’s problems. According to a video obtained by The Hollywood Reporter’s Chris Gardner, the rapper was taken away in handcuffs at Crypto.com Arena after winning three Grammys during the pre-show ceremony.
Just spoke to an official who tells me it’s a misdemeanor and has nothing to do with anything that happened today here inside the arena. Likely he will be released once it’s sorted. “It’s a big nothing,” source says.
