Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai have returned to team training ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but Mohamed Salah remains sidelined.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is also hopeful that Wataru Endo and Andy Robertson will be available for the trip to the City Ground.
Nunez has missed the past three matches with a muscle problem, while Szoboszlai hasn’t featured since the end of January due to a hamstring injury.
Endo (ankle) and Robertson (illness) both sat out Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth-round victory over Southampton.
The Premier League leaders are desperate for reinforcements during a hectic schedule after 14 members of the senior squad were missing in midweek.
“Darwin and Dom trained yesterday with the team so we have to wait and see how they react,” Klopp said.
“Wataru and Robbo didn’t but there’s a plan in place that they join in today.
“Macca (Alexis Mac Allister) was ill for one and a half days and Robbo had the same thing. Hopefully it didn’t spread. I haven’t heard that it has.”
Salah is still doing his rehab after feeling discomfort in his hamstring following his comeback against Brentford a fortnight ago.
“I don’t think Mo is too far off, but he won’t reach tomorrow,” Klopp added. “Next week it’s possible. On the way back but not there yet.”
