The Los Angeles Clippers are amid a 7-game road trip, and one that has started very well for them. While they did fall to the Cavaliers, they picked up 20, 21 and 16-point wins over the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, respectively. Tonight, they take on a Detroit Pistons team that is currently dwelling at the bottom of the NBA standings. The visitors will be without Ivica Zubac tonight, but they have a great replacement for him in Mason Plumlee. The back-up center is a great rebounder, having recorded 11 boards in 19 minutes in his last outing. He should have success keeping Jalen Duren from dominating the paint here.
It is hard to see the hosts slowing down the Clippers here. They are just 24th in defensive rating over the last 10 games while the visitors lead the league in offensive rating during that time. The Pistons are notably short of lock down defenders on the perimeter so having to match up against the trio of Paul George, James Harden and Kawhi Leonard should prove too much to deal with. The hosts have given up 30 or more points in their last 3 games to Kyle Kuzma, Shai Gilgeous Alexander and Donovan Mitchell. Going against a team with 3 great individual scorers, its hard to see them keep pace. Back the visitors to cover.
