LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a shooting at an apartment near downtown Lincoln.
Officers were called to the apartment near 11th and G streets around 12:05 p.m. on a report of a shooting, Police Chief Michon Morrow said.
When officers arrived, 53-year-old Jacob Mulloy — who had called police — turned himself in, according to Morrow.
A 52-year-old man was shot in the head, Morrow said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mulloy was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

It’s unknown what led up to the shooting, but the two men knew each other, according to Morrow.
A handgun was recovered at the apartment, police said in a press release.

The area of 11th and G streets will be blocked off as officers continue their investigation.
The death is Lincoln’s second homicide of 2024. There were eight in 2023, compared with 11 in 2022.
