MGM Resorts has denied claims that Bruno Mars owes the company $50 million in gambling debt.
“We’re proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one of the world’s most thrilling and dynamic performers. From his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, Bruno’s brand of entertainment attracts visitors from around the globe,” the company told The Post in a statement.
“MGM and Bruno’s partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM,” the statement continued. “Together, we are excited to continue creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.”
Last week, a source alleged to News Nation that Mars, 38, owed millions to the hospitality empire. “[MGM] basically own him,” the insider claimed.
The Post has reached out to Mars for comment.
The “Just the Way You Are” crooner is currently in the nith year of his residency at the iconic hotel. The outlet claimed he reportedly makes $90 million ($1.5 million a night) in his current deal with the MGM.
Mars began his contract with the hotel in 2016.
“Bruno is among the most talented performers in the world, and we are excited to start a long-term relationship with him,” William Hornbuckle, the president of MGM Resorts International, said in a statement at the time.
The “Grenade” singer is no stranger to playing cards, however.
In 2016, the 15-time Grammy winner revealed that he used to play poker to pay his rent before his music career kicked off.
“For a little while, yeah,” he told James Corden during a “Carpool Karaoke” segment on Corden’s now-canceled “Late Late Show” after the actor asked Mars about how he fended for himself before he became an international success.
Mars recently canceled his concert in Tel Aviv in Israel due to the deadly conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas militants.
“Dear customers, Bruno Mars concert scheduled to take place tonight is canceled,” Live Nation, the entertainment company behind the event, announced in a statement via Instagram in October 2023.
“All ticket purchases to the show will receive an automatic refund to the credit card through which the purchase was made,” the statement continued. “We stand with the residents of Israel, IDF fighters and the security forces in these difficult moments.”
