Speaking on MSNBC’s show on Tuesday, she announced that she and her husband Michael Schmidt, 40, had a baby.

“I have not looked at my phone in a week,” Wallace said of her time away from the program.

“Mike and Liam and I are all smitten with her,” she said, referencing her other child, an 11-year-old boy she shares with her ex-husband.

“Our dogs are still rendering judgement.

“We were able to keep it a secret, obviously, because I wasn’t pregnant.”

She said she was elated to share the happy news with her viewers but didn’t mention if she adopted the baby or had it through surrogacy.

During the program, Wallace shared a photo of the precious newborn, named Isabella Sloan Schmidt, and said she had to step away to be with her family but greatly missed hosting the program.

“There are pros and cons to being a mom again at 51,” she said.

“You are tired. I was up all night last night and I was like ‘Oh wow, yeah this is what 3:45 am looks like.’

“But it’s a blessing to be focused again on what has always grounded me, and that is my beautiful family.

“My son Liam is 11 and was in the hospital and scooped her up in his arms and was calmer than we were at the beginning.

“He has a knack for the sway and the ‘shh,’ the things you do no matter where you are when you have a baby. I found myself at the bank today swaying without Izzy in my arms.”

She said that her viewers and the show are her other family and that she would “never leave in a moment this dire.”

Wallace plans to take a few months off to be with Izzy and her family.

FANS OVERJOYED

Deadline White House shared a clip of Wallace’s announcement on X, formerly Twitter, and fans gushed over the news in the reply section.

“Congrats to Nicolle Wallace on her new baby daughter. What a surprise!” one person wrote on X.

“Congratulations Nicolle Wallace! She has a new daughter. Mom is making a better world for you,” another said.

“Thanks for everything, Nicolle.”

Fans have wondered where Wallace was since she disappeared from the program on November 6.

On Monday, viewers were shocked to discover that Alicia Menendez took her place, and wondered whether the beloved host would return.

Hours before her bombshell announcement, fans took to X to share their concerns.

“Someone, anyone… where the heck is Nicolle Wallace?” one asked.

“Where is Nicolle Wallace? Vacation, I hope,” another said.

HAPPY FAMILY

Wallace married Schmidt in April 2022 at an intimate ceremony with immediate family, the network said at the time.

The couple first went public with their relationship in 2019.

Schmidt is an MSNBC contributor, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, and investigative reporter for The New York Times.

He covers Washington with a focus on tracking and explaining high-profile federal investigations, according to his bio on the news site.

Wallace was previously married to Mark Wallace, former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, for 14 years but the pair divorced in 2019.

The former couple shares one son, Liam Wallace.
