Nothing makes my hair feel and look as luxurious as this Ouai hair oil — and smells like an expensive French perfume

In the winter, my hair feels dry and brittle and can look dull and lifeless. In the summer, on the other hand, the humidity causes my hair to frizz. I can’t win! At least, I couldn’t — until I found a hair oil that was able to solve all my problems at once. The Ouai Hair Oil moisturizes, tames frizz, seals split ends and adds shine to my otherwise stressed tresses. Plus, it acts as a protectant to prevent breakage, helping to keep strands healthy and strong — even when heat styling. It’s a secret weapon for achieving a fuller, bouncier, healthier-looking ‘do. I also don’t mind that it smells like a luxurious Parisian perfume.

OUAI

The brand has a cult-like following and thousands of Amazon shoppers give its hair oil a perfect rating.

If you’re new to Ouai, its founder is celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin — you may have seen her on Keeping Up with the Kardashians or on Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram. From the brand’s shampoo to its wave spray to the leave-in conditioner that I use every single day — every Ouai product I’ve tried has lived up to the hype and has become a “can’t live without” product in my haircare arsenal. The hair oil, however, may be my favorite Ouai product yet.

The Ouai hair oil is vegan and contains a blend of galanga root extract, ama oil and borage oil — combined, they make hair feel stronger and silky soft, without weighing it down.

This is a versatile oil that can be used on wet or dry hair. Start with one small pump and warm it up in your hands — keeping in mind that a little goes a long way. Avoiding your roots, focus on the hair starting around your eye line and work your way down. Comb through and style however you want.

A 1.5-ounce bottle is $30 or — if you’re not ready to commit — a travel-size bottle is only $16. While the brand may be a tad pricier than the stuff you’d find at the drugstore, one bottle will last you at least six months, and the results are definitely worth it. The Ouai oil is a multi-tasker and leaves your hair softer, glossier and more manageable. It also features Ouai’s signature Rue St. Honoré fragrance — a gorgeous, floral scent with notes of violet, gardenia, ylang ylang and white musk — leaving you smelling just as luxurious as your hair feels.

Nearly 3,000 Amazon shoppers give it five out of five stars and rave about its “amazing smell.”

“This hair oil has to be the best on the market!” wrote one happy customer. “The thin consistency doesn’t leave the hair feeling oily, but rather silky and smooth. Also the scent is amazing and lasts for days. This is an absolute hair care necessity!”

“This is an amazing oil,” wrote another impressed shopper. “It made my curls look fuller and so shiny! Very impressed, and the scent is lovely!”

Shoppers say you don’t have to worry about it weighing down fine or thinning hair either.

“I have thinning hair that gets oily very quickly, so I wasn’t sure if this would weigh it down, wrote one shopper who previously tried Moroccan Oil with no luck. “The Ouai oil turned out to be amazing. It’s lightweight, smells good and my hair feels soft and healthy. I will be repurchasing this product again.”

Although people love it, plenty mention the price tag in the reviews, too.

“It smells so good! It’s very soft and floral,” wrote one reviewer. “I love it so much. It defrizzes well without making your hair look greasy too! It’s a little pricey but when you consider how long it will last I’d say it’s worth it!”

All in all, if you’re looking for a hair care product that can help tame frizz and make it shine without weighing it down, you should give it a shot. The scent is just a bonus!
