Selena Gomez may have lost her category to The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri at the 81st annual Golden Globes on Sunday night, but she is still feeling like a winner.
While she may not have taken home the trophy for best performance by a female actor in a television series, comedy or musical, for her role of Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building, the superstar, 31, assured her followers that she was more than satisfied with her love life.
‘I won,’ she captioned an intimate photo of herself and boyfriend, Benny Blanco, sharing a passionate kiss.
In the image, the Single Soon hitmaker could be seen tenderly holding the back of her man’s neck while rocking the red and black Giorgio Armani dress that she wore to the star-studded award ceremony, held at The Beverly Hilton.
She teamed the crimson dress with a matching pair of metallic heels and diamond-encrusted platinum jewelry including massive earrings, multiple bracelets, and three rings.
For the occasion, the two-time Grammy nominee styled her brunette tresses in an elegant updo and glamorous makeup look that enhanced her natural beauty.
Last week, a source told People that Gomez is ‘super happy and present’ amid her romance with Blanco, 35.
‘She seems to be really feeling herself at the moment,’ the insider revealed. ‘Maybe that’s Benny or maybe that’s just where she’s at personally and professionally.’
As for how the singer’s circle feels about her new relationship, the outlet claims ‘everyone is so happy that she’s happy.’
The source noted that her Only Murders in the Building costars and crew consider ‘any boyfriend of Selena’ a ‘boyfriend’ of theirs.
Since going public with the record producer, the lovebirds have been sharing snaps together on social media, and were recently spotted at a Lakers game earlier this month.
At the Lakers vs Heat game in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the duo, who dated in secret for six months before announcing their relationship, did not shy away from engaging in some PDA.
At one point, Blanco planted a kiss on her hand as she rested her head on his shoulder.
Recently, she has been showing off a diamond-encrusted ‘B’ initial on her finger, in tribute to her new man.
Selena was previously linked to Zayn Malik and Andrew Taggart from The Chainsmokers and famously dated Justin Bieber on and off from 2009 until early 2018, and The Weeknd in 2017.
In mid-December, the Spring Breakers star furiously defended her boyfriend against fans who accused him of ‘shading’ her in the past.
Fans were particularly angered by a resurfaced interview where Benny appeared to call her a ‘cookie-cutter pop artist’ while praising her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
‘Like you know, they’re like, ‘this is my new single and here’s my makeup line,’ he told podcast host Zach Sang in 2020.
Though that could easily be a jab at Gomez — who owns the makeup brand Rare Beauty — she made it clear that she is unbothered by the remark.
As one fan slammed her as ‘corny’ for sticking by him despite the shade, Gomez replied: ‘Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts’
She also told another upset fan, who said Blanco has ‘cursed’ the star, that ‘he has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’
The Disney Channel alum concluded it with: ‘The end.’
But Gomez’s replies didn’t stop there.
One fan penned a lengthy comment accusing Gomez of always choosing to date ‘crusty, problematic music men.’
They believe she should go after someone who is ‘a rich, educated, mature handsome man that would treat her with love and respect, share her same values and life goals.’
Gomez said the analysis of herself and Blanco was ‘so off.’
She then fired back at a rude troll who suggested that she ‘can’t get [a man] better’ than the music producer if she wanted to.
‘[LAUGHING EMOJI] I feel bad for you,’ Gomez wrote.
Selena vowed that she would ‘never be with a f**boy ever again’ — an apparent dig at ex Justin — thanks to over a decade of therapy.
Gomez said that if her fans ‘actually care about me’ that they will recognize that she is at her ‘happiest’ right now.
‘If you don’t [care then] feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever,’ she wrote.
‘I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest then don’t be in [my] life at all.’
