Just before CES 2024, MSI teased its first gaming handheld console. While the official teaser didn’t have much in it, right after the video went up, the portable gaming device appeared on a major Chinese retailer called JD.com. This store event listing has showcased the gaming handheld’s design. It also confirmed that the console will be called MSI CLAW.

MSI has just teased that the company will be launching its first gaming handheld device. However, in the official teaser, the manufacturer didn’t really say much regarding the device. It only showcased some design details of the portable gaming device. But soon after the official teaser went up, the gaming console appeared on JD.com.

According to the poster shared by MSI at the store event, the gaming handheld device is called MSI CLAW. The picture also suggests that Chinese consumers will get the portable gaming console bundled with the latest 2024 MSI gaming laptops.

The store event poster of the MSI CLAW gaming console didn’t give any details on the specs. However, Intel has responded to the official teaser video shared by MSI on X (formerly Twitter) with three thinking face emojis. This interaction suggests that the new Intel Core Ultra processors may power the upcoming gaming handheld.

But as there’s no official word from MSI regarding the specs of the CLAW gaming handheld, there’s still a chance of it packing an AMD Ryzen APU instead of an Intel Meteor Lake processor. It should also be noted both the ASUS ROG Ally (curr. $700 on Amazon) and Lenovo Legion Go (curr. $900 on Amazon), two of the competitors for the upcoming MSI console, equip AMD Z1 APUs.
