Tim McGraw shares sweet throwback photo with wife Faith Hill from 1999 in celebration of New Year’s: ‘Still goin strong!’

Tim McGraw rung in 2024 by sharing a sweet throwback photo with his wife of 27 years, Faith Hill, which was uploaded to his Instagram page in celebration of New Year’s.

The It’s Your Love hitmaker, 56 – who has previously credited his wife for keeping his life on track – could be seen standing close to the Breathe songstress, also 56, in the black and white image. 

He stood behind Faith with his arms wrapped around her waist, and she lovingly rested her hands on his. 

In the caption, the singer penned to his 3.6 million fans and followers, ‘Happy New Year!! 1999 and still goin strong!!!’ 

Social media users jumped to the comment section to share their thoughts on the picture, with one typing, ‘The most adorable couple on earth!!’ 

Another wrote, ‘Still STILL one of The Hottest couples out there. I hope you two stay as happy you seem,’ while one follower added, ‘I can only imagine finding a love like y’all have! Happy New Year!!’ 

Faith and Tim first crossed paths in 1994 while attending a Country Radio Seminar Showcase and were both in separate relationships at the time. 

Two years later, the pair reconnected when the songstress was the opening act during McGraw’s Spontaneous Combustion tour. 

That same year, when they were both single, the singers began dating. 1996 was a special year for the lovebirds, and the two also became engaged in June. Only a few months later, Hill and McGraw tied the knot. 

Throughout the course of their marriage, the performers welcomed three daughters: Gracie, 26, Maggie, 25 and Audrey, 22. 

During a past interview with People, Tim gushed that both he and his wife raised, ‘three strong, independent, strong-minded young women.’ 

‘And what I’m most grateful for is just how normal our kids are and how grounded they are and how much they respect themselves and other people.’ 

The Just To See You Smile singer added, ‘It makes me feel like we’ve done a pretty decent job, especially Mom.’  

In August of last year, McGraw also opened up about getting sober in 2008 and gave a lot of credit to Faith. 

On Zane Lowe’s Apple Music podcast, the singer admitted, ‘I guarantee you, had I not gotten married to Faith at 29-years-old, A, I probably would have ran my career into the ground and B, I would have died or ran my career into the ground one or the other.’ 

‘It wouldn’t have ever been where it is now,’ he continued, adding that Hill had dealt with his drinking for, ‘a while because I was pretty sneaky about it.’ 

‘When the kids got old enough to notice things is when she finally said “You gotta figure this out.”‘ 

Tim further opened up about his sobriety journey in 2021 during an interview with Esquire. 

Shortly before making the decision to get sober, he revealed to the outlet that he had been, ‘getting out of [bed] and going to the liquor cabinet and taking a big shot at 8:00 in the morning and thinking, “I have to wake the kids up.”‘

‘I went straight to my wife and said, “This is where I’m at.” I was scared. She just grabbed me and hugged me and changed my life…’ 

A few months earlier in October 2023, Faith and Tim celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. At the time, McGraw took to Instagram to share photos of the pair and penned a heartfelt message. 

He reflected when they first met and McGraw typed out that he ‘fell’ for Faith ‘in an instant.’ 

‘Today is our 27th wedding anniversary and I fall for you everyday, every time you walk into the room, every time I see you in our 3 beautiful daughter’s smiles. I just keep falling and always will. Happy anniversary my love! @faithhill.’ 

To kick off 2024, Tim is set to take part in his Standing Room Only Tour which will officially begin in February in Oklahoma. 

The singer – who will be joined by special guest Carly Pearce – will conclude the concerts in June in Sacramento.
