Wagner mercenary with two murder convictions holds ‘patriotic education’ lesson about fighting in Ukraine for Russian kids

The murderer, one of whose victims was his own grandfather, was entrusted with raising children

A school in Vyiznoye village in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast came up with the brilliant idea of inviting a Wagner PMC mercenary who had previously been convicted of two brutal murders to speak to local students about his experience of fighting in Ukraine.

In 2010, Alexander Raspravin was sentenced to six years in a maximum security prison for beating his own grandfather to death while drunk after learning that he was not going to bequeath his house to him, Nova Gazeta Europe wrote on Oct. 23.

After his release, Raspravin didn’t enjoy his freedom for long, and in 2017, he was sentenced to another 12 years behind bars for brutally beating an acquaintance, which ultimately led to his death.

Rasprasvin subsequently signed a contract with Wagner PMC in the fall or winter of 2022, when its former leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was touring Russian penal colonies looking for recruits.

A forensic report concluded that Rasprasvin had previously suffered a head injury that caused him to develop “psychopathic traits”.

None of these facts discouraged the school administration which found it appropriate for him to hold a so-called “patriotic education” lesson with children, telling them about his war exploit stories, and walking around the school with a grenade launcher.
