Who’s hosting, where to watch

NBC’s legendary, late-night comedy show, “Saturday Night Live,” is back in full swing after going dark last year.

The show took a hiatus beginning in April 2023 as a result of the Writers Guild of America, the union representing many of Hollywood’s TV show and film writers, going on strike.

The show returned on Oct. 14, 2023, with the season 49 premiere featuring alum Pete Davidson hosting and Ice Spice as the musical guest. The entire cast from season 48 returned for the premiere, with James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman promoted from featured players to repertory players and New York City-based comedian Chloe Troast joining as a new member of the crew.
