ZOTAC confirms four out of nine Geforce RTX 40 SUPER models will be priced at MSRP

ZOTAC confirms which RTX 40 SUPER cards will launch at NVIDIA MSRP

NVIDIA puts a pressure on AIBs to lower the price to official MSRP.

NVIDIA collaborates with various board partners renowned for designing great looking, often faster models than NVIDIA’s. The reference design which many believe the Founders Edition series are, has put a lot of pressure on AIBs to come up with something new and efficient that would be considered better than what NVIDIA came up with.

Recently, NVIDIA has started to put a new review embargo on its Founder Edition and all custom models. Models that will be available at NVIDIA MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) can be presented a day before the official SKU launch. Only on the next day, cards that have higher launch price can be fully presented (review embargo). This day is the launch day, which means that customers who may want to choose something faster and fancier will have to read or watch the reviews and then make their decision. Or preorder the hardware and hope it was the right choice.

Therefore, in that aspect, NVIDIA embargoes are flawed, but they prioritize MSRP designs and give board partners a reason to have as many such cards as possible. On the other hand, anything that does not follow MSRP is only fully showcased on the same day the new card launches. The solution for this is actually really simple, NVIDIA should have three embargoes or at least divide the MSRP/non-MSRP cards by hours, not days. And the launch date should be a launch day, not review embargo lift.

Speaking of MSRP cards, ZOTAC has officially announced that its Trinity Black series will be offered at the MSRP. This also extends to the Twin Edge non-OC variant of the RTX 4070 SUPER as well. Notably, any cards featuring factory overclocking will debut with a higher price tag, and consequently, reviews for these cards will not be included in the pre-launch day coverage.
